We consider every Headwaters parent to be a member of our volunteer community, and we have many opportunities throughout the year to help the school in big and small ways. Please fill out the Parent Volunteer Interest form
and we'll help connect you with ways to help!
The Parent Volunteer Community (PVC) is our parent volunteer organization, supporting all three of our campuses. Our goals are to build community, show love to our faculty and staff, and support the school in meaningful ways. The PVC organizes ways for families to contribute towards these initiatives. Every family is a member of the PVC and our goal is to have every parent find a way to be involved! Volunteer opportunities include regular, occasional and one-time support and many are flexible to fit with varying schedules and interests. Parent involvement is critical to the success of our school, and our teachers and administrative team are truly grateful to each parent who gives time toward making our school a stronger community.
The new PVC staff liaison is Amy Nylund, whose role is shifting this year to Senior Director for Community and Enrollment. Says Amy, "I am so excited to work with parent volunteers on each campus this year. From supporting our staff and students, building community with other parents, helping in the Creek and Springs Campus gardens, supporting fine arts and athletics at the River Campus, and much more--there are so many ways to help! Our PVC campus leads are fantastic, and ready for a great year.
We have PVC Campus Leaders from each campus which meet regularly to help connect the campuses, build a sense of community, and learn from one another in creating best practices. Each classroom/grade level has a PVC Community Rep, and then there are many volunteer roles for specific events, projects, and areas of interest. The PVC Campus Leads this year are Kim Flenniken and Heidi Day at the Springs Campus;Kelly Sapstead at the Creek Campus; and Bryan McNeal and Laura Quilici at the River Campus.
Current Headwaters parents, once you sign up for a group you are intrested in, you will be placed in a group in The Nest. This will put you in touch with the latest details and allow you to reach out for ways to get involved! You can also email email@example.com
