Symptom Screening App & Handbook Acknowledgement

Headwaters School
Easy to use app with Magnus each morning!
Dear Headwaters Students and Families,

Please take the time to read this email in its entirety. It will cover two important details as we head into the school year. The first is our symptom-screening process through the Magnus App. This process will be mandatory for those students coming to campus. Then, you will find a link to the Student & Family Handbook. This year, we are doing acknowledgement forms through Magnus as well.

For the upcoming school year, we will be using Magnus Health as the tool parents will use to complete a daily COVID-19 screening assessment of your child(ren) each morning prior to departure for school when your child will be on campus.
  • Springs Campus families will screen prior to arrival for phase in and for regular school days.
  • Creek Campus families will screen prior to on-campus visits.
  • River Campus families will not need this app until later when we have plans to be on campus.
The Magnus Mobile app will allow parents to complete this easily from a smartphone in just a few clicks. This screening process will help us to create the safest possible environment for your students and our faculty and staff by avoiding screenings at the door where person to person transmissions could take place. At the completion of the quick survey each morning, you will receive a message for the student's attendance instruction for that day. As this is a web-based system, you will have continuous access to your child's health record as well as the ability to make updates when needed to any health history. All health form updates can be completed through their new app as well.

Please follow these steps to get started:
  1. Download the "Magnus Mobile V2" app from the Apple Store or the Google Play store.
  2. The daily screening assessment is accessible ONLY on the app.
  3. Please refer to the important Instruction Sheet on how to create your app login credentials.
  4. Your current username/password combination can be used to log in to the mobile app.
  5. If you have more than one student, you will need to do a screening for each student every morning, but will need only one login/password.
On Tuesday, August 25, you will have access to begin completing the Magnus Health COVID-19 Daily Screening for your student(s). You will access the screening via the button titled "COVID-19." We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this daily screening as it will be an imperative function of our safety protocols. All parents must submit the screening each morning forHeadwaters School no later than 30 minutes before your child's drop off.

Timely submission of health information is vital so that preparations can be made prior to the start of each school day. Please reserve 1 to 2 minutes per child to complete this each morning. We also recommend taking a quick screenshot to show the staff working drop-off. They will have a list, but the green go screen will be a quick indicator.
  • Please do the Magnus Health Screening Questionnaire via the Magnus App before leaving for school.
  • Take a screenshot of the screen for "Go" with a green circle and the date.
  • When you arrive at a health screening point at drop-off, stop your vehicle, then show your health screener your Magnus green Go screenshot.
  • If you did not complete screening prior to drop-off or don't have the screenshot, we ask that you will be asked to pull aside, park, and complete the app questionnaire. Then, either get back in line or walk your child to the temp check, maintaining social distance.
  • Your health screener will verify that your child's temperature is less than 100.0 with a touchless thermometer while your child remains in the vehicle.
  • Your health screener will be wearing a mask and gloves.
Any updates to this process will be communicated by Weekly Updates.

The 2020-2021 Student & Family Handbook is live at this link. As you read the Student & Family Handbook, please pay special attention to the following:
  • Attendance policies
  • Distance Learning with Video/Voice Platforms (page 10)
After you read the Handbook and COVID-19 Addendum, you must log in to Magnus to complete a handbook acknowledgement form. This form also includes permissions for other important things depending on your child's program. There is a form for each child that you have at the school. Any parent or guardian can sign off for that child, and only one signature is required per child. These forms are due by next Monday, August 31.

For questions related to any of these details, please reply to this email for support from the Communications Team of Amy Nylund and Cait Taylor.
