Welcome to Will Clark! Will is joining us as our new Middle School English guide for 7th and 8th grades.
Welcome to Will Clark! Will is joining us as our new Middle School English guide for 7th and 8th grades. Will’s educational background started with teaching middle school and elementary P.E. in New Orleans. He then earned a master’s degree in English Education from the University of Georgia's Mary Frances Early College of Education in the spring of 2017. He’s a big fan of his Georgia Bulldogs! Upon completing that program, he stayed in Athens and taught English and Language Arts. His move to Austin happened early this school year and he says, “I am now eager to embrace new challenges as part of the Headwaters family, and look forward to learning from the Austin community!" We’re so glad you are here, Will!

What Brought Will to Headwaters School
I was drawn to Headwaters by the school's holistic Purpose, Promise, and PACT initiative that aligns so well with my own pedagogy. I am passionate about the power of community to create meaningful change and was immediately impressed by Headwaters' leadership team during the interview process. When given the opportunity to join the Headwaters family as a middle school English guide, a role that presents so many new and exciting learning opportunities, I jumped at the chance to move to Austin and work with Roberto, Avé, and Ted. I have since been blown away by the warm welcome from faculty, parents, and most of all, students. I look forward to learning and growing as part of this incredible community.

Fun Facts About Will
  • I am the second of four children and a proud brother to Joey (who works in finance and currently lives in London), Michael (who is in the United States Coast Guard and is currently stationed in Seattle), and Katie (who just graduated with honors from Rhodes College and is currently beginning her professional career in Memphis). We are the lucky children of Joe and Joanne Clark, high school sweethearts from Philadelphia currently living in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • I am the proud dog-dad of an 8-year-old golden retriever named Chipper. We enjoy hiking, camping, and caring much too deeply for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.
  • I have taught in New Orleans charter schools, Georgia public schools, and briefly in an orphanage and primary school in Arusha, Tanzania. I am proud to work in the humanities, to be an American teacher, and to have a "job" guiding others toward fulfillment with the knowledge that it will certainly lead to my own.
