Continuing Mask Policies at Headwaters

Headwaters School
Headwaters School will continue all face-covering requirements on all of our campuses.
Dear Headwaters Community,

You may have heard about Governor Abbott’s press conference yesterday at which he lifted the state-wide mask mandate. Headwaters School will continue all face-covering requirements on all of our campuses as stated in our COVID-19 Addendum on page 11: While indoors or in school vehicles, face masks will be required for adults who do not have health restrictions; Creek and River Campus students are required to wear masks; and Primary students are required to bring a mask.

At this point in time we do not foresee any lifting this requirement.

As we continue with masks, here are some updated resources we’d like to share about masking:
  • A properly fitted mask that is at least two layers, however, we recommend three layers. In addition, we do not allow masks with exhalation valves/vents or gaiters.
  • Best type of masks CDC Types of Masks and Your Guide to Masks. Consider double masking.
  • Make sure your mask fits your face tightly. See this video on how to make your mask fit better.
  • Remember to remove your mask from the strap, not the front of the mask.
  • Wash hands if you accidentally touch your face.
  • Everyone plays a part in enforcing masking and best practices.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Program Director or email planning@headwaters.org.
