Vaccine Clinic for 12 years+ Survey

Alex Penry, Headwaters School
Dear Headwaters Community,

We want to keep the community updated on our COVID-19 mitigation measures. Regarding vaccinations, we are happy to report 95% of Headwaters employees are vaccinated. We are grateful to our employees for taking this important step to protect themselves and our more vulnerable community members.

In our River student population, which is largely eligible for the vaccine, we have a self-reported vaccination rate of 50%. We know that having a high vaccination rate (closer to 90%) will help keep our community healthy, and will help keep school open. Because of this, we will be hosting a vaccine clinic in the near future with the goal of reaching a similar vaccination rate among our students that we have seen in our faculty. All the details can be found below this email.

In order to schedule this clinic, we need to confirm that we will have at least 10 participants. If you are interested, please complete this survey. If you have friends or family who would like to participate, please forward this email to them; the entire community is welcome to attend. We will report back with a scheduled date as soon as we have confirmation from APH.

If your child has been vaccinated, but you have not yet uploaded their vaccine card to Magnus, please do so now through Magnus. Parents may update records by logging into the Nest, going to Resources, and clicking on the Magnus Health tile and adding their COVID-19 vaccine card to the immunization section. Additionally, Campus Manager Paula Pacotti can help students by copying their vaccine cards and uploading them to Magnus if they stop by the Front Desk.

This vaccine clinic will be supported by Austin Public Health. Vaccines are free, and APH does not require insurance, ID, or proof of citizenship. APH will also be offering 3rd doses to the immunocompromised, per CDC guidelines. More info provided under the “Third Doses” title at this link

Thank you,
Alex
