In Blue Ink Tears, Roberto shares writing from twenty years of his life through a bilingual poetry collection. His poems tell stories of love, relationships, race, identity, and everyday living. The structure, divided into three parts, explores what it's like to be a young man growing into his identity. You are invited into his point of view through free verse, rhyme, haiku, and more to vividly and sensorially describe his life as a first generation Black Dominican-American.

"Blue Ink Tears is a work of emotional beauty, historical awe, and nostalgic reminiscence. What you've compiled here is a collection of experiences, not just poems, that will make young readers think and dig deep." Tanya Manning-Yarde
