Across three campuses, we create a journey of discovery and growth for students from 18 months through high school. Students at Headwaters learn quickly that thoughtful questions spur them further forward. Their curiosity drives them to deeply understand their world, building experience and confidence that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.

Early Childhood: 18 months-6 years
Montessori-based education where we cultivate independence and love of learning, establishing a foundation for success in school and life. -
Elementary: K-5
Montessori-based, academically rich environment where students develop the intellectual nimbleness, spirit, and resilience to thrive in adolescence and in the world in which they live. -
Middle School: 6-8
Students explore their passions with increased independence, cultivate their sense of self and their role in the larger community, and boost critical thinking skills. -
High School: 9-12
International Baccalaureate® curriculum provides the challenging capstone of the Headwaters education, as students develop their own scholarship, voice, and agency in a supportive environment.

Headwaters Guides
Our educators are called guides, a term that comes from our Montessori roots. Guides are observers, mentors, and facilitators, encouraging children toward ever-expanding concepts of interest and ability. -
Montessori Foundations
From Early Childhood-5th Grade, Headwaters students delve into Montessori classrooms that offer beautifully prepared environments, deep engagement, student-led learning, and caring guides. -
International Baccalaureate® Capstone
In their junior and senior years, students hone their skills in critical thinking, research, writing, and creative expression through the integrated — and renowned — IB framework. -
City as Classroom
Our urban location allows us to integrate our students as citizens of their city and enrich their on-campus lessons through adventure and engagement with all Austin has to offer. Students build self-reliance, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
