Annual Fund

2020-2021 Annual Fund Launch

For the 2020-2021 school year, we’re launching our primary annual fundraising effort with the goal of raising at least $150,000 in the month of October. We’re focusing our campaign around four strategic priorities (below), and unlike previous years, we’re concentrating most of our effort on two events - Founding Day at the end of October, and Amplify Austin in March. We will share more about those four strategic priorities in the coming weeks: Headwaters Next; Headwaters Today; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Student Experience. And if you give in the month of October, we won’t follow up with you again for a gift until Amplify in March.

Unrestricted monetary gifts to the Annual Fund provide the school with the most flexibility, however, contributions can also be directed in support of specific strategic initiatives.

List of 4 items.

  • Headwaters Today

These gifts help Headwaters continue daily operations, even during the difficulties of COVID-19, offering relief for Headwaters families who are experiencing hardship due to the pandemic, keeping our guides employed, and helping Headwaters School rise to meet this new norm in education. These gifts provide Headwaters with the most flexibility to meet our most pressing needs.
  • Student Experience Fund

Donations to this Fund expand learning both in and out of the classroom. Field trips, guest speakers, and overnight experiences, as well as technology enhancements and classroom materials all reinforce classroom learning. Within this area, we aim to lift up S.T.E.A.M. program development in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and math across all three campuses.
  • Headwaters Next

Visionary gifts to this fund support the future of Headwaters. Help us secure the school’s financial health for years to come by maintaining and investing in our facilities and capital assets, reducing debt, and building reserves.
  • Diversity and Financial Aid Fund

Give to provide access to a Headwaters education for students from diverse backgrounds, fund the PACT Scholarship program, and sustain enrollment for families as their circumstances change.

Every Gift Matters

As is common in independent schools, tuition alone does not fully cover the costs associated with providing an exceptional education. The Annual Fund supplements tuition revenues and helps to cover the true cost of a Headwaters education. Tax-deductible donations to the Annual Fund support our operating budget, impacting all aspects of every students' daily experience.

With the full support of our trustees, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the school we can meet our Annual Fund goals and sustain many of the cherished components of the Headwaters educational experience.
Participation Matters! Every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference.
Each year, our community’s collective contributions provide us with the financial flexibility to enhance our programs and enrich our student’s educational experience. Contributions are a critical component of our operating budget, but the impact of your donation does not end there. Before businesses, foundations and other outside donors commit resources to our school, they want to see a fully invested community – one that believes in the school, its values and experience. Participation in the Annual Fund is an indicator of our community’s shared commitment to the success and sustainability of Headwaters School and sends a powerful message to other donors. Whether you give $50 or $50,000, know that your gift has an immediate and meaningful impact on each student’s daily experience.
Every dollar counts. Every gift matters. Every donor makes a difference.
