Founding Day Fling

• All Adult Community Members are Welcome!

  We warmly welcome all parents, guardians, guides, staff, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the school to join us for our Fall Fling! Whether you’re a current member of our community or a cherished part of our school’s history, we’d love to celebrate with you at this special event.

• What to Wear: Groovy 60s Theme

  Guests are welcome and invited to dress up in fun 60s fashion for the Fling! Here are some easy ideas:

  • • Mod: Think geometric patterns, bright colors, and mini skirts or A-line dresses.
    • Hippie: Flowy dresses, tie-dye patterns, and peace symbols.
    • Retro: Vintage-inspired clothing like bell-bottoms, plaid shirts, and headbands.
     
    • 60s-inspired accessories: Add a touch of the 60s with items like sunglasses, scarves, and hats.
    • Color palette: Wear colors that were popular in the 60s, like burnt orange, olive green, and mustard yellow.

  Think bright, bold, and carefree—whether you’re going for a hippie or mod look, it’s all about having fun and embracing the 60s vibe! Don't be afraid to shop your own closet!

• Can I sponsor a staff ticket?

  Yes! Thank you so much for making it possible for a staff member to attend the Fling! You can add on a staff ticket sponsorship when you buy your tickets. 

• Is there Childcare?

  Yes! We will host a movie night for children in the Studio on the River Campus downtown with popcorn and pizza. Child(ren) must be at least Primary age and potty trained to attend.

• Mystery Prize!

  Ready for some fun? We have a collection of fabulous prizes from wonderful donors, each valued at $50 or more. Every prize is assigned a mystery number, and when you purchase a number, you win the prize associated with it—but you won’t know what it is until you receive it!

• Parking

  Pay to Park

  The Austin Central Library features two levels of underground parking with 140 public parking spaces. The entrance is on West Avenue. Parking is not validated. If the lot is full try City Hall or use your favorite parking app. 
  
  If you are not familiar with this garage, it's tight for larger vehicles.

  • $0 0 up to 1 hour
  • $5 Over 1 hour up to 2 hours
  • $9 Over 2 hours up to 4 hours
  • $11 Over 4 hours up to 7 hours
  • $13 Over 7 hours up to 10 hours
  • $15 Over 10 hours up to 12 hours
  • $30 Over 12 hours or lost ticket

  Street Parking

  There is metered street parking on nearby streets. City pay stations accept credit cards, debit cards, and change. See the City of Austin's Parking page for more information.

  You are welcome to park in any Headwaters spot on the River Campus located at 801 Rio Grande Street. You can even leave your car here overnight. Learn more about parking on campus at the link below.
