River School Portraits will be held on Thursday, October 7 during the school day. We will have make-up portraits on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 during the school day. Portraits will be taken by Paige Wilks of Austin School Portraits.
“Many parents ask, ‘What should my child wear for photo day?’ and honestly, it's a two-part question. Letting your child pick his/her own outfit for picture day is always fun. Not only does it let you remember him/her at this exact stage in their lives, but also, kids are super proud of their own outfits and they just feel so special wearing their favorite thing! I love seeing the kid’s personalities come out via their unique style choices. Encourage your child to choose an outfit they love for photo day!
In addition to choosing something your child loves, it's important to remember that portraits are taken on a black background. Keeping this in mind, encourage your child to choose bright colors and sway them against wearing black. Neon and shirts with logos/words are also not advised.”
What to Expect
Paige will be taking socially distanced photos with a special lens to capture each student. Her photos are taken with a sleek black background from the shoulder up. Paige lets students be the guide for photos, sharing “while some kids choose to smile, some are shy, and some love showing me their silly side.” Parents can expect to receive 3-5 different proofs per student in both color and black + white.
When Will Proofs Be Ready?
Online proofs will be ready to view/order approximately four weeks after photo day. You will be notified when portraits are ready to view and order via the Weekly Updates, so stay tuned!
Paige offers different photo packages for digital or prints. All galleries will have an expiration date, so don’t wait too long to order when available. Click here if you wish to see more details on packages and pricing.
Your child’s privacy is important to Paige. Rest assured she will never share your child’s portrait without a signed model release and all galleries are password protected.
