Virtual Meet & Greet with Paige Whitney, New Elementary Director

We are so excited to welcome Paige Whitney to our school! We will host two virtual events so that you are able to meet Paige and learn more about her before school starts. You’re welcome to join the event that best suits your schedule. If you are unable to attend, we will share the recordings after. Invites with Zoom links coming soon.
  • Thursday, July 15 from 12-12:45 p.m. via Zoom
  • Tuesday, July 20 from 6-6:45 p.m. via Zoom

Class Rosters

On June 8, we shared the Creek Rosters with families (please see your email or login to the Nest for the Link). In creating the rosters, we worked together with all of the teachers to take many different factors into consideration (age, gender, learning style, academic/behavioral needs, friend dynamics, etc.) to create balanced classrooms. We began this process in April, and modified until we felt all of the children's needs will be best attended to.

Supply Lists

While the school will provide your child with the necessary classroom supplies, your child will need to bring the following items to school each day, labeled with their name:
  • Insulated lunch box with a cloth napkin and any needed utensils
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Small or standard-sized backpack
  • A separate snack container

Sign-Ups for Creativity Club & Early Arrival

On the Creek Campus, we offer Early Arrival (EA) starting before school at 7:30 a.m. and the after-school care called Creativity Club (CC) until 5:45 p.m. each afternoon. Click here to sign-up today!

FAQs

Our Headwaters Frequently Asked Questions is a living resource document to answer your questions about the 2021-2022 school year, whether you are incoming or returning. Do you have a question you don’t see on here? Email communications@headwaters.org and we will get back to you.

Stay Tuned…

Here are some things that you can expect later this summer:
  • Families will be receiving information about Magnus student records next week to be sure all student records are up to date.
  • Student pre-visit schedules will be available in August when guides return to the classroom.
  • In July, we will share how to access the Directory in the Nest.
  • The Family & Student Handbook will be shared in early August. We will also still be utilizing our COVID-19 Addendum to allow for nimble policy changes when necessary. This will include masking policies, illness policies, and more.

Support Headwaters and Austin FC this Season!

Headwaters is raising money for the school by running concessions at Austin FC home games this inaugural season! We’re volunteering with Valentina’s and the school will take home 10% of Valentina’s sales after each home game to support the Annual Fund. Sign up for one or more shifts here.

Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts. Bring your friends and family to volunteer, too! Volunteers must be 18 years of age and TABC Certified. Learn more about volunteer requirements at this link.

Volunteer Interest Form

Our Parent Volunteer Community (PVC) is made up of all Headwaters parents! We want every parent to find a way to contribute to the school in a way that feels meaningful to you. We rely on your support to realize our school's purpose and promise while keeping costs down, and we really appreciate your participation. Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents, learn more about the school, and contribute to our community’s success. Fill out this form to indicate what areas you might be interested in volunteering to support during the coming school year. If you have any questions, please reach out to Amy Nylund at a.nylund@headwaters.org.

Parent Facebook Group

If you are interested in connecting with other Headwaters families, the Parent Volunteer Community (PVC) moderates a private, unofficial parent Facebook group for the Headwaters parent community. This group is a great place to connect with other parents, organize carpools, plan meet-ups, etc. Email pvc@headwaters.org to be added. This group is primarily social and is moderated by parents, so if you ever have specific questions about school-related things, please reach out to your campus manager for a quick answer rather than posting the question to the Facebook group.

Community Business Directory

One of the best features of our school community has always been the deep level of caring amongst parents, guides, students, and staff members. We invite you to check out and support businesses owned by Headwaters community members in our Headwaters Community Business Directory. If you want to add your business or update information to the Directory, you can do so at this link.
