Zoya Dhedhi ‘23 Is the First Headwaters High School Student to Submit a Paper for Peer Review

By David Heroy, PhD
We have a first for Headwaters School! Recent graduate Zoya Dhedhi ‘23 submitted a paper to a peer-reviewed publication last school year and it is now under review in the International Journal of High School Research. This is a big deal. While the IB has high standards, the standards of publication to a peer reviewed journal are even higher. Publication aside, it's just a fascinating piece of original research–Zoya collected data from United Nations datasets from various countries around the world, which show mathematically how Marine Protected Areas actually increase fish catches. This is good news for the environment and for fishermen worldwide. Congratulations, Zoya!
