Meet Jaclyn Anderson, Lead Guide in the Primary Bluebirds Classroom! Jaclyn joined us this fall, bringing vast Montessori experience along with her. Welcome!

Jaclyn grew up in a military family and travel was an important part of her upbringing. Seeing the world inspired her curiosity early on. Prior to becoming an educator, Jaclyn was actually an accountant! However, when her oldest child started Montessori at 2-years-old, she made the big change to become a Montessori educator after seeing and experiencing Montessori as a parent. She noted that “the classrooms had observation windows and [she] started going by to observe the magic that was happening inside,” and finally when she came for a parent education event over a weekend, she fell in love with Montessori education fully!

After moving to Texas, Jaclyn began her American Montessori Society training program while also working as an assistant guide. Since then, she has been an early childhood lead guide in the central Texas area before joining our Springs Campus. “I am still learning more every year about the wonder and beauty of early childhood,” Jaclyn shared.

On a personal note, Jaclyn lives in the country with her three children and two cats.

What Brought Jaclyn to Headwaters:
I am so happy to be a part of this amazing school community. What first attracted me to Headwaters was the passion for whole child education. With a background in Montessori education, this is an important value to me, and it is delightful (and incredibly rare) to see that principle played out in one community from 18-months-old all the way to high school!

Fun Facts About Jaclyn:
  • I was an Air Force brat and have moved 18 times. I have now lived in the Austin area for 9+ years, which is twice as long as I had ever lived in one place before!
  • I love to travel and hope to eventually visit all 50 states (currently at 44) and all seven continents (currently at three).
  • In my former (pre-teaching) life I was a financial accountant.
