Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, observed on the fourth Thursday in November, is a U.S. federal holiday traditionally focused on gratitude, family gatherings, and shared meals. While many celebrate it as a time of reflection and connection, it is also recognized—particularly since 1970—as a National Day of Mourning. This observance honors the resilience and history of Native American peoples and acknowledges the deep and lasting impact of colonization following the arrival of English settlers in 1620.
