Veteran's Day (Observed)

Veterans Day, observed annually on or near November 11, honors all U.S. military veterans for their service and sacrifice. The date commemorates the armistice that ended World War I—formally enacted at “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” in 1918. Originally proclaimed as Armistice Day by President Wilson in 1919, it became a legal holiday in 1938 and was later renamed Veterans Day to honor veterans of all wars. At Headwaters, school remains in session on this day, and we observe it with reflection.
