Black History Month

National African American History Month, observed each February, honors the contributions, resilience, and impact of African Americans throughout U.S. history. It highlights the ongoing struggle for freedom and equality while deepening our collective understanding of the nation’s past. Each year, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History—founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson—selects a unifying theme to guide reflection and education.
