ISAS DEI Conference Recap

Headwaters School
Last week, ten Headwaters faculty and administrators representing all three campuses gathered with other independent school educators at St. Stephen's Episcopal School here in Austin for the 2022 Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) DEI Conference.
During our two days together, we heard speakers, attended breakout sessions, and had the chance to collaborate with and learn from our colleagues from across the southwest. Professional development experiences like this one support our goal that all of our Headwaters School community members (of all races, ethnicities, religions, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities) feel a sense of belonging and purpose, and can recognize and cultivate their personal agency in pursuit of a more just and equitable society. Attendees for Headwaters were Alexandra Penry, Amber Anderson, Amy Nylund, Andrew Medina, Leslie Hirsch, Lupy Cepeda, Natalie Turner, Paige Whitney, Ted Graf, and Rebecca Merino.
