Phase-In Schedule & Supply List

Last week I sent out individual emails to welcome each family (“Welcome” is also the subject if you need to search for it). This email included your child’s individual Phase-In Schedule and supply lists for your division.

What is Phase-In Again?

Our Phase-In schedule will begin on Tuesday, August 24. Phase-In is designed to facilitate the smoothest transition for you, your child, and the Headwaters' community. Depending on the age and level of the child, we have different phase-in schedules for each child. Phase-In schedules were sent to all Springs families the first week of June.

Sign-Ups for Extended Care

On the Springs Campus, we offer Early Arrival before school at 7:30 a.m. and the after-school care previously called Creativity Club going until 5:45 p.m. each afternoon. Click here to sign-up today

Class Rosters

YCC families received their class rosters. Primary families will receive class rosters later in August.

FAQs

Our Headwaters Frequently Asked Questions is a living resource document to answer your questions about the 2021-2022 school year whether you are incoming or returning. Do you have a question you don’t see on here? Email communications@headwaters.org and we will get back to you.

Springs Campus Whom-to-Contact

Not sure where to direct a question? Look no further than this PDF of Springs Campus contact information at this link

Stay Tuned…

Here are some things that you can expect later this summer:
  • Families will be receiving information about Magnus student records next week to be sure all student records are up to date.
  • In July, we will share how to access the Directory in the Nest.
  • In August, we will send Primary class rosters.
  • In August, we will have One-on-One visit time slots available for new Primary students. This is a 30-minute visit for your Primary student and parents to come in and visit guides and the classroom on August 25.
  • The Family & Student Handbook will be shared in early August. We will also still be utilizing our COVID-19 Addendum to allow for nimble policy changes when necessary. This will include masking policies, illness policies, and more.

Upcoming Calendar Events

Here is the link to the most recent At-A-Glance Calendar for the 2021-2022 school year. The most up-to-date calendar is always located at headwaters.org/calendar, but here are some important dates to start the school year:

  • Monday, June 28 - Monday, July 5: School Offices Closed
  • Saturday, August 21: Headwaters 101 Event for New Families, 9-10:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, August 24:
    • Springs Phase-in Schedule Begins
    • Class Orientations: Times listed in your phase in schedule sent the first week of June
  • Monday, September 6: Labor Day (Student & Staff Holiday)

Support Headwaters and Austin FC this Season!

Headwaters is raising money for the school by running concessions at Austin FC home games this inaugural season! We’re volunteering with Valentina’s and the school will take home 10% of Valentina’s sales after each home game to support the Annual Fund. Sign up for one or more shifts here.

Volunteers are welcome to sign-up for multiple shifts. Bring your friends and family to volunteer, too! Volunteers must be 18 years of age and TABC Certified. Learn more about volunteer requirements at this link.

Volunteer Interest Form

Our Parent Volunteer Community (PVC) is made up of all Headwaters parents! We want every parent to find a way to contribute to the school in a way that feels meaningful to you. We rely on your support to realize our school's purpose and promise while keeping costs down, and we really appreciate your participation. Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents, learn more about the school, and contribute to our community’s success. Fill out this form to indicate what areas you might be interested in volunteering to support during the coming school year. If you have any questions, please reach out to Amy Nylund at a.nylund@headwaters.org.

Parent Facebook Group

If you are interested in connecting with other Headwaters families, the Parent Volunteer Community (PVC) moderates a private, unofficial parent Facebook group for the Headwaters parent community. This group is a great place to connect with other parents, organize carpools, plan meet-ups, etc. Email pvc@headwaters.org to be added. This group is primarily social and is moderated by parents, so if you ever have specific questions about school-related things, please reach out to your campus manager for a quick answer rather than posting the question to the Facebook group.

Community Business Directory

One of the best features of our school community has always been the deep level of caring amongst parents, guides, students, and staff members. We invite you to check out and support businesses owned by Headwaters community members in our Headwaters Community Business Directory. If you want to add your business or update information to the Directory, you can do so at this link.
