Juneteenth (Campuses Closed)

Headwaters School Campus Offices and Camps will be closed to honor and celebrate Juneteenth.
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, it marks the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation—to enforce the order freeing those still enslaved. Now a federal holiday, Juneteenth is also a time to honor African American culture, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality
