During students’ Junior and Senior years, our college counselor, Lisa Dubuque, guides families though the college planning and application process. Topics covered include resume design and how to request letters of recommendation. The program provides an introduction to college planning resources such as the College Board, MyEdu, Fair Test, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and introduces resources to support the application process, like the Common Application and ApplyTexas. Several college recruiters from universities around the country will visit throughout the school year. Parents and students will be invited to attend several evening sessions important topics such as paying for college will be discussed. Juniors and seniors will receive .25 credits for each year for a total of .5 credits earned.
