The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Headwaters School is an IB World School offering the Diploma Programme for 11th and 12th grades. We are also part of The Texas IB Schools association. These schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Headwaters School believes is important for our students.
The International Baccalaureate “aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.” Click here to read research about Diploma Program Key Findings.

This mission statement is very much in line with our own Purpose, Promise, and Pact. Headwaters is committed to developing students who are Peacemakers, Advocates, Creators, and Thinkers, which mirrors the IB’s goal for students, as seen in its Learner Profile.

Please contact Stephanie Roach, Headwaters IB Coordinator, with any questions about IB. She can be reached at s.roach@headwaters.org.
