Middle School Language Immersion in Cádiz
During Project Week in March 2025, a group of middle school students traveled to Cádiz, Spain, for a full language immersion program with Centro MundoLengua. This trip was designed to deepen Spanish fluency and cultural competency through homestays, daily language classes, and interactive local experiences.
Highlights included:
  • Living with host families in Cádiz for a week
  • Taking daily Spanish classes (3 hours per day)
  • Enjoying cultural experiences such as:
    • A flamenco class and performance
    • A cooking workshop
    • A bike tour of the city
    • A surfing lesson
    • A full-day excursion to Seville
“Our goal is to help students become more fluent in Spanish and more familiar with the culture by being immersed in it.”
With the support of Spanish guides Natalie Turner and Lidia Galarza, students developed confidence, independence, and a greater understanding of Spanish culture. For many, it was their first time abroad—a powerful step in becoming globally aware citizens.
