    POSTPONED: Final Make-Up Day for Portraits

    River Campus Studio - 804 Rio Grande Street
    UPDATED 4/30 at 1:30 p.m.:
    Due to storms and heavy rain forecasted for tomorrow morning, we are postponing our Portrait Make-Up Day to this Sunday, May 2 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the River Campus Studio located at 804 Rio Grande St. Paige Wilks of Austin School Portraits has graciously been able to adjust her schedule to make sure we have a nicer day to take photos. 

    Again, this session is for anyone who missed portraits or wishes to take a retake photo. It is first come, first serve with no appointments or reserved time slots.

    COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

    Tarrytown Pharmacy - 2727 Exposition Blvd. Ste. 105 Austin, TX 78703
    We are excited to announce that we have created a partnership with Tarrytown Pharmacy for a Pfizer vaccine clinic for our students (over 16) and families at their location at 2727 Exposition Blvd. Ste. 105 Austin, TX 78703. While not required by Headwaters School, vaccines are a safe, effective way to prevent COVID-19, and we want to promote easy access for everyone that would like to be vaccinated.

    River Campus Garden Work Day

    River students and parents are invited to volunteer for a Garden Work Day on Saturday, May 8 as we work to beautify the River Campus this spring! We need people to help us dig up some plants, bag up leaves, move some stones, set up a tent for an outdoor classroom, and refinish some picnic tables. You can sign up for a shift at this link.     Last Day to Order Portrait Downloads or Prints

    Your child's portraits are available for purchase via digital download or several print/package options. Any print packages or print orders will be available for pick-up at school 3-4 weeks later (we will contact you).

    Middle School Trivia Night

    River Campus - 807 Rio Grande Street
    All Middle School students are invited to a Trivia Night on the Deck on Saturday, May 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Students can dress fancy and come play some trivia, hosted by Trivia512! We'll have prizes for the winners and individually wrapped refreshments available for all. Tickets are $5 per student, and you can register your child at headwaters.org/trivia. We need some help from parents to make this happen--please sign up at this link for some items and volunteer shifts we need filled! Thank you for helping make this end-of-year event happen.

    POSTPONED to 6/1: High School Performance Pitso

    We have made the decision to postpone this evening's High School Pitso & Trivia event to Tuesday, June 1 due to weather. Radar was looking better, but it's still a 70% chance of rain and a flood warning. We don't want people to be driving to or from campus in unsafe conditions.
     
    Please plan to join us on June 1 if you can! RSVP here. We'll have performances, refreshments, and trivia with Trivia512 (with Amazon gift cards for prizes!). We will also invite our incoming high school students so they can start to meet everyone

    Since it was so good to see you all in person last month, I wanted to host another in-person gathering with me on Friday, May 21 after drop-off to talk more about Positive Discipline. We will meet physically distanced around the community table at the Berkeley Circle Drive  (located at 1534 Berkeley Ave.).     8th Grade Graduation

    8th Grade Graduation will be hosted at Springdale Station in East Austin on Thursday, May 27. We are excited about this in-person event to celebrate the graduating 8th grade class. The event will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Families are welcome to start arriving at 6:30 p.m. to get seats.

    In the event of inclement weather, we will make the call on Wednesday, May 26 by 9 a.m. and inform all families and staff that the event will be held indoors.

    Additionally, the Primary classrooms will be hosting small events in the classroom to celebrate the students who are moving up and moving on. We will be filming those and sharing the recordings with parents, too! 

    Please note, the last week of school will be a normal week for drop-off and pick-ups. Wednesday 5/26 will still be an early dismissal and Friday 5/28 will be a normal, full day of school.

    Springs Gates of Life Car Parade

    “An ending is but another beginning, rejoice all ye who walk through these gates.” 

    To celebrate the end of this school year, we wanted to bring the community together in a way that celebrates our students and allows for us to gather safely. We decided the car parade is a great way for families to have fun in a safe way. As you recall, Gates of Life will be on Saturday, May 29 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. We will be hosting a special car parade for our families to celebrate the Gates of Life for all families who wish to participate. Here is a FAQ about the celebration.
