In partnership with Austin Parks Foundation, join Shoal Creek Conservancy on the Shoal Creek Trail where we will make and disperse seed balls, plant Texas natives, and remove litter and recyclables from Shoal Creek from 9th St to Lady Bird Lake.
All tools and supplies will be provided, but please bring water and snacks if needed. All ages are welcome, with supervision. Please wear close-toed shoes, long pants, and dress for the weather.

Headwaters River CampusDear Middle School Students and Families,Headwaters School would like to invite all middle school students to our annual Middle School Dance on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. at Headwaters School River Campus on the Deck and in Building 2. The theme is Masquerade!All Headwaters Middle School students are invited to attend this event. Students are welcome to invite one guest from outside our community with a request form. All guest names must be indicated on the ticket purchase form and families must fill out this Guest Request Form for Dances which requires signatures from Headwaters parent/guardian and the parent/guardian of the guest. This form must be completed and turned in to the front desk at least 48 hours in advance of the dance.Tickets

As we may remember from our own adolescence, these are some of the questions our tweens and teens grapple with as they explore and experiment with ideas, identity, and relationships during middle school. Sometimes this exploration leads to use of alcohol and drugs.Middle School Parents are invited to join therapist and educator Amber Jekot on Monday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio for a special Middle School-focused Parent Ed to learn about tween and teen vaping, including:- The way brain development impacts our kids’ decision-making skills
- How the tech-centric world exacerbates our drive for dopamine and social rewards
- The physical and mental health risks of vaping and how vaping today differs from previous generations use of THC
- Harm reduction approach that parents can use to talk to their tweens and teens about this difficult topic

Some students work in groups, others work solo, we also have a few approved off-campus excursions that occur (like our ODL trip). This allows a week of full-time attention towards Project Week endeavors. Please note, the campus will be open and students will meet their Project Week GuideHere are a few more details:- In January and February, students will work on planning their project during Advisory. This includes guidance on brainstorming a project idea, getting it approved, being assigned to a guide/facilitator, working on the project, and understanding the PW schedule and parameters.
