All Headwaters High School students have the opportunity to participate in our after-school sports program, regardless of previous experience. Each season begins with a trial period in which students can try out the sport. Teams compete in the TCSAAL for flag football, and the TAIAO for all other sports.
Our teams are competitive within these leagues and have won numerous championships over the years, but above all our program emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and playing for the love of the game.
Throughout the school year we offer the following teams:
Flag Football (Coed)
Basketball (Separate Girls and Boys Teams)
Each sport has a dedicated coach from the Headwaters Community. Teams typically have practices or games 4-5 days a week. Practices are after school and usually take place at the Austin Recreation Center, Duncan Park, or Zilker Park.
Born and raised in California, I received my B.S. degree in Psychology from U.C. Santa Barbara. After finishing my undergraduate education, I traveled the world for ten years, seven of which were spent managing a bicycle tour company in Paris, France. Now settled in Austin, I am thrilled to be teaching and coaching at Headwaters. In the classroom, I am passionate about inspiring others to learn and seek knowledge. On the sporting field, I emphasize hard work, teamwork, and the mental aspect of sports. I am honored and grateful to be part of the Headwaters staff and community. This year I will be the teaching Government/Economics, and coaching high school flag football and soccer.
